After teaching Traditional Music in the Primary Schools of Portrush for a number of years, running evening classes for Fiddle, Whistle & Bodhran, & teaching an evening class for adults on Bodhran & Tin Whistle in the local Catering College, I felt the next natural step was to establish a good Session in the town. A few folk had tried to get one started in various venues, without much success, since the heady days of the Harbour Bar Sessions.

However, when I approached Sean, in the Springhill Bar, he was more than keen on the idea.

  
 
I managed to get the Springhill session up & running about seven years ago, with the help of my wife Sabine, on Harp, & two fine local musicians Martin & Sorcha, on Flute & Fiddle. Since the quiet early days, this session has, with dedication from ourselves & Sean, developed into one of the best on the coast.
  
 
We play Irish Music on Fiddles, Flutes, Whistles, Guitars & Bodhrans, & if your lucky, you'll get a song or two into the bargain.
 
 
This session takes place around a huge wooden table by an open peat fire, a great setting for first class music.
