Mandragora have given costumed musical presentations, for a number of years now, to schools & adult groups on the history & development of traditional musical instruments, featuring many of their more unusual instruments including the Hammered Dulcimer & Fife.

We have also provided suitable music in costume for Wedding Banquets, Irelands first Jousting Tournaments at Shane & Slane Castles, plus a wide variety of other historic re-enactment events including Medieval Banquets in:

We are available to provide suitable ancient music, in costume, for Druidic ceremonies, including Weddings.

'Musical Presentation'

We provide an educational 'Musical Presentation' to Primary Schools, showing the development of musical instruments from the earliest times to the Renaissance period & the present day, using our many and varied instruments.

Dick Glasgow

I am a Scot, now living on the Causeway Coast of North Antrim, teaching Traditional Music to local Primary School children on Fiddle, Tin Whistle & Bodhran, and adult classes for Whistle & Bodhran for Flowerfield Arts Centre, Derrynoid Centre & the Horizon Project. With my wife Sabine, we play for Weddings both at the ceremony itself, pre-banquet receptions and with our Causeway Ceili Band for Wedding Ceili's. I also run the Black Nun Folk Club, & play in many local traditional music Sessions.

Sabine is particularly passionate about the Harp music of Scotland, Ireland & Wales, and also loves playing a wide variety of woodwind instruments including Fifes and also Medieval Small Pipes.

Mandragora, is the Latin name for the 'Mandrake Plant', an aphrodisiac which has medicinal properties as well as being used in Witchcraft.

It's root is in the shape of a man!
