Accommodation

In 2005, we used the excellent facilities available to us at the Bushmills Education Centre as a base for the festival, the classes, talks & most of the accommodation.

For 2006, we are planning to take over the ED. Centre again and also the Mill Rest Hostel, and divide the classes & talks up between the two locations.

In practice this will mean splitting up the classes & having probably all the Hammered Dulcimer classes in one of the above, and all the other classes at the other location, which should suit those who like to overdose on the sound of the Dulcimer on such weekends. However, there will be plenty of opportunities during the weekend for all musicians to get together to share their music.

Incidentally, the other talk facilities we used were those of the National Trust at the Giant's Causeway, and these were so successful that we hope to use them again in 2006.

'Bushmill's Education Centre'

The Festival's base in 2005 was 'Bushmill's Education Centre', which was our home for most of the classes & talks over the weekend, as well as providing basic Hostel style accommodation for many of the participants.

In 2006 we will be based at the Ed. Centre again & will run a number of the activities in the comfort of these premises.

The Cost of accommodation here is £39.53 + VAT from Friday 19.00 to Sunday 14.30 which includes all main meals.

'Mill Rest Hostel'

Those who don't wish to stay in the Ed. Centre, which, as an education establishment has a strict 'No Alcohol' policy, may like to stay in the new Bushmills Hostel, the Mill Rest which is just a 5 min. walk away.

Costs here are £10 per night, per person, with meals: Breakfast - £3.50, Lunch - £4 & Dinner - £8. N.B.

When contacting the hostel, you MUST say that you are attending the C D F, as the only beds available during CDF weekend are actually reserved for folk attending the festival!
