Residential course - Summer 2006
I
have been teaching adults, and children, for the past nine years, using
a simple letter system for the Whistle, & a simple symbol system
for the Bodhran.
For
the past six years I have taught full time in local Primary Schools,
as well as numerous evening classes, where adults, and children have
been taught.
My
series of evening classes usually involves ten weekly classes of one
hour on each instrument, which prove to be an ideal introduction, for
the complete beginner, to the wonderful world of Traditional Music.
This
course has proved to be very successful in the past, at the 'Portrush
Catering College' and 'Flowerfield Arts Centre', Portstewart.
At
the Derrynoid Centre my ten week course is condensed into a weekend
format, with a session in the Mountview Bar, at which the students will
participate, as an incentive/reward for their efforts.
